Transfer Virginia
Transfer Virginia is an initiative to provide transparency and access throughout the college transfer process. Through the Transfer Virginia portal, we strive to provide you consistent and current information from all partner institutions. You can research, plan and organize your transfer journey using the information and resources available within this portal from Virginia's institutions. The information in this portal is updated twice a year.
VHCC offers certain programs (just click the button "View Transfer Programs" above to see which ones!) that are designed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Simply enroll in a transfer program, meet with an advisor every semester to ensure you are taking the best classes to transfer, and follow the guaranteed admission agreement set forth by the college of your choice. Apply to transfer by that college’s deadline and you are set!
A guaranteed admission agreement is a contract between you and a four-year college. The agreement is different for every college and spells out exactly which requirements you need to meet to be guaranteed acceptance into the college. This agreement often spells out a minimum GPA requirement, and can sometimes list other requirements unique to the college.
The best place to find your college of choice’s transfer information is on the transfer page on the website of the college you plan to attend. This page typically lists important admissions deadlines and has application instructions specific to your college of choice.
