Join us Tuesday, January 23rd, from 9am-4pm to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at VHCC. Activities that day include: 

  • Speech Showings
    • 9:30 - Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech video in the Collins Student Center
    • 10:00 - Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech video in the Collins Student Center
    • 11:00 - Martin Luther King Jr.'s "The Three Evils of Society" speech video in the Collins Student Center
    • 12:00 - Martin Luther King Jr.'s "What is Your Life's Blueprint" speech video in the Collins Student Center
    • 12:30 - Martin Luther King Jr.'s "The Other America" speech video in the Collins Student Center
  • "I Have a Dream" Boards
    • These will be located around campus.
    • Students, faculty, and staff can write down their hopes, dreams, goals, etc. on a sticky note and post it on one of the boards if they wish to share.
  • Pecan Pie
    • Individual pecan pies will be available throughout the day to share one of Dr. King's favorite sweet treats with the VHCC family.
  • Free Coffee from Wolf Grounds
    • Free Coffee will be provided by Wolf Grounds Coffee Shop in the Collins Student Center from 9am to 1pm.
